Maribel Morua New York, NY 12/15/2008 Dr. West gave me back life when I thought all hope was gone. In 2001 at the age of 30 I discovered that I had a fibroid the size of a basketball. I visited three doctors who told me that I needed a hysterectomy. I was so depressed and heartbroken. I had been married for a year and wanted children. One day I was checking the internet trying to find another doctor and I came across Dr. West's site. I had surgery in November 2002, everything went extremely well, I could not believe that I no longer had that horrible fibroid and that I still had my uterus. I had been to my gynecologist, and he found that a fibroid I had had grown very large in size -- about the size of a canteloupe. I had an attempted myomectomy surgery, which was unsuccessful, because the doctor said he could not perform the surgery, that it was too involved - blood vessels, tangling, etc. He was going to send me to another doctor, but he knew the doctor would only tell me to get a hysterectomy also because of the seriousness of the fibroid. We have one wonderful child and wanted more, if possible. I began searching the internet and what did I happen upon but Dr. West's website. WHAT A GIFT FROM GOD! When you read the testimonials, you are totally blown away. TRUST ME, they are all true!!!! Dr. West is such a caring and wonderful man. He truly cares about his patients and wants you to fully understand everything. He drew everything out for me, just so I could understand things better. Dr. West is very patient, and NEVER makes you feel rushed about anything. I am from a small town in Alabama and was nervous about the trip. The ladies in his office are such a big help! They will help you with everything! My sister flew up with me, and I had the surgery. Dr. West also found additional fibroids nobody else had. He removed them all, and even some adhesions from prior surgeries for hopes of a future pregnancy! I was LITERALLY up and walking the halls early the next morning. Was able to fly home with NO PROBLEMS!!!! I even flew back to see him for my checkup, because I just really wanted him to perform the checkup. Dr. West is the most amazing doctor ever and just a super awesome man! He saved my fertility!!! If it wasn't for Dr. West, I would have had a hysterectomy -- no doubt! If you're thinking of seeing Dr. West, please don't hesitate to call him. I just can't stress enough -- if someone has told you you have to have a hysterectomy -- DON'T!!!!! Go see Dr. West. Jennifer K New York 07/06/2008 One month ago I was strongly recommended to Dr West by a client. I immediately booked an appointment to see him. On appointment day I did not know what to expect because I knew I had three to four large fibroids inside me from previous consultations with other doctors. It was also suggested by them that that I should have a superficial hysterectomy performed. I was unhappy with this suggestion because it ruled out the opportunity of me having a child. However on my consultation with Dr West he highlighted there were other important issues which the other doctors did not raise with me. I was now faced with endometriosis, 19 fibroids (not 3-4) and clogged fallopian tubes - what a mess! However, Dr West still had a solution to my predicament and crucially the door was still ajar for me to have a child. Another concern I had was the effect of scarring and also the duration of the healing process - a particular worry due to my hectic business schedule. After my first consultation I felt I was in capable hands with Dr West because he had valid and convincing responses to all my concerns. I felt totally confident that he was the only doctor to satisfy all my demanding needs. He did not disappoint me. On the very same day of my surgery I even walked to the bathroom unaided. Darlyce Franks-Washington Maryland 06/11/2008 I am a woman over 40 years of age, and like other women I suffered from Fibroids and Endometriosis since I was 22. I had a myomectomy back in 2004 and to my surprise my fibroids returned within 4 months. My other Dr told me “Oh well it’s time to have a hysterectomy now!” I replied, I want a second opinion!
